Micromussa
Micromussa, often referred to as Micro Lord corals, is a genus of large polyp stony (LPS) corals known for their vibrant colors and distinctive, compact polyp structure. These corals have small, rounded polyps that cluster tightly together, creating a textured, almost beaded appearance.
Popular in reef aquariums, Micromussa corals are prized for their rich, varied coloration, which can range from bright greens and reds to deep blues and purples. They typically require moderate care, thriving in environments with moderate lighting and water flow, and stable water parameters.
In natural reef settings, Micromussa contributes to the biodiversity and beauty of the ecosystem. They are especially valued in the aquarium trade for their hardiness and the visual appeal they bring to reef tanks. Their relative ease of care compared to some more demanding coral species makes them a favored choice among both novice and experienced aquarists.
